Jeffrey Bishop graduated from the RIHEL Advanced Leadership Training Program in the cohort of 2022. The experience was deeply transformative and when presented with the opportunity to give back and invest his time and energy, he joined the RIHEL Board of Directors in 2025.

Jeffrey is a USMC veteran who served honorably, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Following military service, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the Metropolitan State University of Denver. In 2013 he started his career with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and currently leads a team of field staff performing compliance oversight duties in the Air Pollution Control Division.

As a scientist and veteran, Jeffrey approaches the world with a sense of curiosity and pragmatism, bringing a unique perspective to his role as leader and environmental steward. Always a team player, he strives to leave the world better than he found it, evident in both his military and civil service.

Jeffrey enjoys being challenged and continually learning. He lives in southeast Denver with his wife and travel partner, Julie. Together they’ve been to over a dozen countries. In his spare time Jeffrey loves drinking coffee, reading a sci-fi novel or cooking a favorite meal.
